Cost of painting exterior of my house?
I received a quote of $2,000 (labor only, I supply the materials) to prep and paint the exterior of my 1,800 sq.ft., 2-story house in Northern California. Does this sound reasonable, and how much should I expect to pay for the "materials" (paint)?
I live in SoCal and paid $2800 to have my 2500 sq ft. 2 story, wood sided (on the front), all the trim, all of the doors, 3 garage doors, all of the shutters, and the front column primed, patched, and 2 coats of paint. All windows, doors and openings were to be caulked and sealed as well. The home was to be power washed prior to prep. It took them 3 days from start to finish. It was a 3 color job, the paint came from Dunn Edwards and the painting company passed on their discount to us in the cost of the job. The primer and body color paint was to be sprayed and the trim, column and doors to be hand brushed or rolled. No stucco was painted. So, yes I think the price you are being quoted is reasonable. Other people in my neighborhood with similar homes have paid as much as $4800.
