exterior painting?
How do you decide which color to paint the outside of your home. I have been searching for websites that will show ideas of colors, etc. and am finding very little. Does anyone know if there is such a website, or possibly one that is similar? Any tips or advice would be wonderful.
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a white with just a hint of blue, like "snowdrop" (# 6511) would look very classy on any house.

I would look around and see what the neighbors have been doing. I am sure they got some good tips from the painter. Also you want to think about your surroundings. Like if you live in a woodsy area you would not want to paint your home a yellow and stand out like s sore.
So just look around and see what you like and keep in mind the surroundings.
Good luck and have fun!

there is 1 site, but I can’t remember which 1 it is. I think it’s lowes.com. They have color a room, & I believe also color a house. BHG.com may also have one, or try hgtv.com. 1 of them have a site where you can try paint colors for siding, trim, doors, etc. on sample houses. I hope this helps, sorry if it’s confusing.

Benjamin Moore has a pretty good website where you can try out different colors. Basic rule of thumb is dark colors make it look smaller, light colors bigger. The personal color view is free, but for $10-$40 you can submit pics of your home and get suggested palette from ‘experts’.

You haven’t said what country you are in. As far as I know the colour can be anything as long as it is not ‘detrimental to the surrounding area’. That it to say, if all the houses are magnolia, white, cream, light great, light blue, etc, you can’t go painting it Pepto Bismol pink lol.
If you are in the USA check with your local planning office to find out whether they have colour restrictions as I know that some towns have a list of colours that they only allow people to use. It is to mainly make sure people paint their houses in keeping with the accepted landscape.
If you are in the UK, try your local planning office as well and they might have acceptable colours or just tell you that you have to paint it in that non detrimental fashion.
Good luck.
