Exterior painting question?

I am spraying my new color and the next section has the electric line attached to fascia.Will I be able to spray here without shocking myself . will electricity transfer thru mist?

The electricity won’t flow through the paint mist, don’t worry about that.
DO WORRY about losing your balance and grabbing the wire!
DO WORRY about getting to close to the wire and having a spark jump across to you!
DO WORRY about the ladder or anything else you’ve got close to the wire!
I hope I scared you a little, be careful and enjoy your new paint!

    Don’t worry about it. You can hold a piece of cardboard over the wire. Or, just skip around it.

    The line is insulated, you can touch it without getting a shock – just don’t cut through it or touch it is frayed. Go ahead, spray over it.

    will you short-circuit the entire neighbourhood by spraying across the wires? If it were me, I’d cover the wires and connectors with cardboard or something and touch up afterwards with a brush

    Dear Raymond,
    Good Question, it is always good to respect electricity. Since you can’t see it and it can kill you, I applaud your desire to find out fist. As Kate says it is insulated and will not create a problem. However to be safe, don’t touch it! This isn’t a perfect world and those lines can have cracks or splits in them. Also if you are using a metal ladder don’t even get close to the wire or touch it with your ladder. If it is cracked you can still paint it with no problem. Then call the electric company and they will replace your wire for free. (because it belongs to them)Thanks for being safe and have a great day.

    You can spray over the wires using the standard wide spray. It will not harm them since they are designed to withstand wind & rain. Just bon’t spray paint the meter box.
