Painting your own home is definately doable. My husband and I will be doing our victorian home soon. I have only one concern. Are you painting over vinyl, aluminum, wood? If you are painting over wood and you power wash it will be way to wet and moist to paint over anytime soon. It will also lead to the paint peeling off much too soon for all of the effort that you put into it.

If you are indeed painting over wood. I suggest building an infrared paint remover. This will strip the paint and dry out the wood at the same time. It also goes alot faster than traditional heat guns. Check out this link for more info.

Wait until the end of summer or beginning of fall for the temps to drop and take your time. A good primer and decent paint and in no time at all your home will be gorgeous!
References :
http://www.oceanmanorhouse.com/paintremover.html

It's doable by yourself, but it will take a long time. I did a single story and it took me a few weeks - including wash, dry, scrape, prime, paint and trim. I did most of my work on the weekends.

I worked all times of the day during daylight hours and just did the side that the sun wasn't on and tried to keep ahead or behind the sun.

Your paint will dry faster in that heat, unless you have high humidity too, so you may get more lap marks.

Make sure you do your prep work and buy a good quality paint (i.e. Diamond Vogel or Pittsburgh) with UV protection.
References :
i did this a couple of years ago.

Its certainly doable but its going to take some time. Took forever to do the trim around the house, and then i did the power spraying. Its about a day or two for washing, a couple of days of trim and a day or so for the rest of the house. It all depends on how high the house is, how much up and down on the ladder you have to do, and how messy you are and the amount of touch up.

I would wait a couple of months until the weather cools off. Sept. or October would be better months to work on it.
References :
I painted the exterior of my house which is about the same, maybe a little bigger than yours. I am not a professional painter but it turned out great and I saved a lot of $$$. Just be sure you research exactly what the steps are and the do's/dont's. Good luck!!
