Can I install a wood floor over ceramic tile?

I have a kitchen floor with 12" ceramic tiles. I would like to install a wood floor over the ceramic tile. I want to avoid the mess (and expense) of ripping out all the ceramic tile. If this can be done, please suggest possible companies or reference materials that I can research. Thank you.

at home depo they have fake wood [it looks real i sware]. you can call someone there and they can put it on for you. all they have to do is put a sticky paste on it. it will be done within three days. i had tiles on my floor and now it looks great with the "wood."

yes but it will make any base molding look shorter, place a moisture barrier between the wood floor and the tile. Ikea has cheap wood flooring you can install yourself but its not the best quality

Not if you have to nail the wood down.
