I have hard wood floor.do i need to place particle wood on top of floor before i use somekind of wood tile on?
i have hard wood floors, but i want to put some kind of wooden tile. do i need something over the raw floor before i start with tile.
I agree w/ the first answer, But…If the floors you have are in decent shape (fairly smooth and not warped) I would put the next flooring of choice directly over the existing floor. Putting plywood or particle board over it will not only raise the level of your new floor(possibly creating problems w/ doors and other transition areas) but will greatly add to the risk of squeaks. The catch is that you must make sure that old floor is clean and level,or at least flat, before you apply your new floor. Hope this helps.
