My tile floors have cracked! Can I lay carpet or wood laminate floors without removing the tile?

The cracks are large in some places and hairline in others. The tile is in the whole house. The house settled after a big rainstorm. My home is 35 years old.

If the tiles are not loose then yes, but you need to get someone in to stop the settling.

If your floor is leveled then SURE! Make sure it is leveled though because if you install new floors on an uneven surface they will crack and split again: Wood laminate would be awesome! Make sure you don’t install in a super moist space or the laminate will bubble and warp: Here’s a laminate flooring info page that you may find useful: and if you install yourself heres some install guides. Very helpful!
