If you still want to see out side there are solar shades that still allow this. Fit blinds to the windows and use them, or UV filter film to the glass to cut down the amount of solar gain entering the room. The trick is to stop the energy enetering in the first place - external shutters as in Mediterranean countries for example. If all else fails fit a small ac unit (preferably a split unit - or a portable one), or a punkawallah - ceiling mounted fan as found all over India (you can get stylish ones).<br><b>References : </b><br> Tile (ceramic or stoneware – not vinyl).
