Which is cheaper: Tile or laminate wood flooring?

Generally, tile. two different looks of course. Tile will last a lifetime. RU thinking of the fake wood flooring or the wood floor with the polyurathane coating? I had Bruce laminate, which was I believe >1/2 real wood over a wood composite and it was about 2.90 a sq ft on sale. It didnt wear the best so I would totally suggest doing your homework before installing any laminate. Consumer reports is a great source and recently had a comparison of laminates. I have seen tile on sale as low as a buck a square foot. Good luck!

Laminate. It’s much easier to put down and doesn’t need grout.

Laminate can be cheaper but wont last as long. If you shop around ceramic tile is better in the long run. If you are a diy’er it can be cheaper than laminate.Laminate transitions are very expensive, usually two thirds of the cost of the project when transitioning from laminate to carpet or tile.
