Why does my cat throw up on rugs or carpet and never the tile or wood?
Whenever my cat binges and purges herself, she always throws up on either a rug or the carpet, rather than something easy to clean like the tile or the wood flooring.
Why do cats do this??
LOL I’ve always wondered that myself. My cat sometimes even vomits on the bed, which is even worse than doing it on the carpet.

Hairballs could be causing the throwing up; give her a bit of butter or the "hairball remedy" stuff you can buy(although they don’t normally like it)put it on her paw so she will lick it off My theory is that the carpet seems more like "grass" to them and that is where they would naturally throw up in the wild?

They have a reason. When they barf their back legs slide out forward if they’re on tile, making them overbalance, so they do it on the rug where their feet stay in place.
