average price for interior painting florida keys?
Does anyone know what a fair price would be per square foot or by the hour for Interior Painting?
grab the yellow pages and start calling different painters. no one will be able to give you a good answer unless they either lived in florida keys and had their house painted or knows a friend that got theirs done, or they went online for info. OR if they’re a painter in florida keys (or knows someone who is), and then they’ll try to sell you their services rather than that of a cheaper and possibly better painter (price doesnt always tell you how well the job will be done).
first measure the square feet of wall you want painted (dont forget the small areas), and start calling local paint services and get a quote on the square footage of wall you want from each company. also dont forget the type of paint (eggshell, gloss..). there are also different brands of paint they may use, so become informed. you could even visit different shops and look at samples from different paint brands, see what kind you like best and what paint will last longer and fade less with sunlight (my walls are faded and it’s only been 2 years). also dont forget to make sure they include a primer if the wall’s not already white, or has a bunch of marks on it (pen, marker…). just know though, that the price can really vary.
oh, also check to make sure the painters will fill in any holes in the wall. some companies may, but others might not if it’s a rather big hole (fist size maybe?). in that case you’ll have to either fix it yourself first, or get another contractor to do it.
once you’re down to 2 or 3 companies that you cant yet decide, see if they’ll do a free in-home estimate in case you missed anything in your previous measurements. then go with the one you believe is more knowledgeable and more experienced (years dont always mean everything). cheapest is not always the best.
