How much should I charge for interior painting, by the square foot (It’s me and one another individual)?

We are starting this business and just need a good average of charging for the job. Since it is just him and me, and there is no employees we will be splitting the profits. We want to just at least here an average price per square foot. I’ve heard anywhere from $1.75 to .65 cents sooo that makes me even more confused………….plleeeeeeeease help :)

Central PA Builder here…….paying $1.60/SF to spray a new home and finish trimwork. We then charge 55 cents/SF to a customer to change a color in a room or make the ceilings white. You can charge more for an existing home because of covering floors, furniture, etc.
