Interior painting. Is it better to paint the trim 1st before painting the walls? Or better to do trim last?
Was thinking of first doing primer and paint on the window and door trim and then once dry then mask trim and then prime and paint the walls. Would this be a good way?
Im a profesional painter myself and the usual way is to paint the walls first and then after dry tape and paint the doors and trim.
either way, just make sure you give enough dry time in between, or you will end up with a mess.

trim last

Do the trim last because that way you can cover any accidental over-runs or drips. Paint drips down, and you just about always get a few splashes on the trim no matter how careful you are.

i would say that you apply the primer first, let it dry, then paint the trim and then finally put on the final coat of pain, if you paint the trim first and then carry on with the painting, there is great chance that some paint will fall on it and ruin its good look, leave the trim just before the final coat so that any damade can be prevented and the trim as well as paint retain their good look,

Here’s the honest answer, it doesn’t matter. As long as you allow the paint to adequately dry so the taping doesn’t damage the paint, it just doesn’t matter. So you can listen to all the hulla-ba-loo you want, but at the end of the day, that’s right, it doesn’t matter which you do first. Don’t waste your time over thinking this one.
