painting interior of house, question about primer?

i’m painting the interior of an old house so i am painting over old paint.

i’ve got kilz premium for my primer.

the corners that i paint with a brush seem to be uneven and streaky, and mostly thicker than the rest i am rolling on.

so should primer be thick or thin or does it matter.

Having had some personal experience with this.. I found that tacky looking primer matters little when you put down a good finish coat….
